Options for sightseeing the touristy spots inside the park and cave tour ($11) on the last day. Carpooling from San Diego and LA areas encouraged.
Primitive campsite. Plan on bringing PLENTY of water for drinking, cooking, washing dishes, etc. Suggest 2 gallons/7.5 liters per person per day due to high elevation hiking. Drink plenty of water before and during the trip to avoid dehydration. Pit toilets may be nearby (short drive) or go in the woods. Please read Leave No Trace and know the rules of the forest. Pack it in/pack it out from this location - dumpsters down the road.
THIS IS BEAR COUNTRY -- be Bear Aware! Food storage is required. No Bear lockers at this location. Plan ahead to put all coolers and food boxes in the vehicles and cover with blankets (yes bears know coolers have food in them.) No smelly stuff will be used or stored in tents.
Driving directions and campsite location will be emailed two weeks before the trip upon paid reservations. We will be entering Sequoia and Kings Canyon from the north entrance from hwy 180, see map. Cell service is poor to non-existent. Fill up gas tan before entering the park. Bring your guitar! Who's bringing the smores and firewood? Questions?
